Service Description
Beginner Pottery class in Wallsend, Newcastle. 6 classes on the pottery wheel in a row on Tuesday from 6-8pm. In this class you will learn the basics of each step of the pottery process. Week 1 will focus on centering the clay and pulling walls - also learning the lingo ;) Week 2-4 will focus on learning to make different forms and practicing your shapes, also trimming your pieces made the previous week. Week 5 you will decorate and clean up your pieces to get ready for the first firing Week 6 will be spent glazing your pieces to be fired. Come with ideas ready to create or as a blank slate and go where the clay takes you. Your work will be fired 2-3 weeks after your final lesson and Nancy will email you once it is ready for pick up from the studio. Please wear enclosed shoes and comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a bit dirty - aprons will be provided for you to wear while on the wheel. The pottery wheels have a remote foot pedal that can be moved to each side depending what is easiest for you. All tools supplied. Accessibility: The studio is located in the downstairs level of our home. Access is via the stairs out the front, if you require any assistance to reach the studio please let me know and I can bring you up the driveway in my car. Once at the top access is clear. Refunds/Exchanges - Classes: If you have changed your mind about completing a class, please let me know within 7 days of booking for a full refund/exchange of dates. Unless you book less than 7 days prior to the class. If the change of mind happens in the 7 days leading up to the class only a 50% refund/exchange is possible, unless your spot can be filled. Extenuating circumstances do happen, if in doubt, please speak with me about your situation. ​ Class cancellations: If I have to cancel or postpone the class due to any reason there will be a makeup date available for the class. If that does not work for you then a full refund for the class will be issued on a pro rata basis.
Cancellation Policy
A full refund is issued if cancelling more than 7 days before the start of first class. If cancelling within the 7 days a 50% refund is given unless your spot in the class can be filled.
